Working Holiday Visas: Age Limit Raised to 35 Years for UK Citizens

The Australia-UK Free Trade Agreement has brought exciting news for UK passport holders looking to explore the land Down Under. One of the notable features of this agreement is the significant increase in the age limit for Australian Working Holiday (Subclass 417) visas.

Until now, UK passport holders aged 30 and under were eligible to apply for their first Australian Subclass 417 visa, commonly known as a Working Holiday visa (WHV).

This age limit used to be the uniform for all countries. However, in recent years Australia made country-specific arrangements to raise the age limit to 35 years. For example, with Canada and Italy.

Under the new trade agreement, the age limit for UK citizens has now been raised to 35 years. This change provides extended opportunities for individuals in their early thirties who wish to embark on an adventure, gain work experience, and immerse themselves in the Australian way of life.

Working travellers from the UK and prospective employers will no doubt be pleased about this change.
